Solstice Anthology Devil's Party Press

Seeking winter-themed short literary works. Poems, short stories, literary non-fiction. PROSE limit 5,000 words. THEME for all pieces:

Observance of winter solstice is one of the oldest winter celebrations in the world. Humans have marked the day with monuments and traditions celebrating the rebirth of the sun for 10k years. It is a time of Mystery, myth and magic. Of going within. Of going home or missing it. Of dreaming. of darkness. Winter looks cold and frozen on the surface, but life goes on underneath the layers. Give us stories that evoke the light or the dark, the fire and ice. Ghost stories to celebrations. It can be dreamy or melancholy, but polished and moving.

I want to feel and sense the season in the stories, or read a tale made for a long winter’s night.

Submissions run Dec through April, publish the following Solstice/January.

Accepted submissions pay $25 for 1 short prose piece or up to 3 poems and one print copy of the book.

Print copy of book sent after publication. (Published writers have the option to buy additional copies at cost, but no purchase is required to have the free copy mailed to you.)
