We accept poetry, memoirs, short stories and flash fiction in any genre, critical essays, short scripts, art, and photography.We would like to know a little bit about you. The Echo wishes to see this in whichever creative form you choose ranging from poetry, flash fiction, and memoirs to short stories, visual art/photography, scripts, and critical essays. So before you submit please familiarize yourselves with our guidelines. Intersection(s) can be: Age Social group Social class Race Gender Sexuality Economic status Nationality Ethnicity Career Hobbies (sports/athletics) Illnesses (physical and mental) Personality Political affiliation Culture Do not send: Fanfiction or other derivative works Illegal confessions Unfinished pieces Previously published pieces (including self-published pieces) Work that intends to harm or shame a group Novel length work (see our note below) Final Notes: Erotica or anything that would earn a rating of R or Mature is a hard sell. So when in doubt, submit Length doesn’t matter it’s how you use ;) Triggering/Vulgar Language: If a trigger warning is needed make sure it is clear before the piece Censor slurs if needed (when in doubt submit with censors) If a piece is explicitly vulgar, submit with caution Art/Photography: Digital art and photography are preferred. If you submit physical art, submit the highest quality scan/image of your artwork that you can. We are willing to work with artists if the piece(s) are accepted We welcome both simultaneous submissions, and multiple submissions from the same author. That’s all!
