Editor Interview: Gay Flash Fiction

Q: Describe what you publish in 25 characters or less.

A: Lit. Fiction for GLBTQI

Q: What sets your publication apart from others that publish similar material?

A: We focus on literary fiction and not genre fiction. We want to get to the gritty details of what life is like for GLBTQI people, both good and bad.

Q: What is the best advice you can give people who are considering submitting work to your publication?

A: We are open to new writers and happy to give them a go. We can give editing advice to those who need it.

Q: If you publish writing, how much of a piece do you read before making the decision to reject it?

A: Flash fiction is short fiction, so we will read the whole piece when considering it.

Q: What additional evaluations, if any, does a piece go through before it is accepted?

A: We don't accept erotica. We don't mind some sex, but it needs to be part of a gritty story, not just sex for the sake of sex.

Q: How important do you feel it is for publishers to embrace modern technologies?

A: Modern Technology has opened up the whole world to everybody. It allows us all around the world to connect immediately.

Q: How much do you edit an accepted piece prior to publication?

A: We will do some basic editing, and offer advice for good stories, but will not do a big edit.
