About

The American Drivel Review is a quarterly-published independent journal of literary humor founded in 2004. The editors put forth that humor holds, at best, an unexamined place in the literary world or, at worst, that the place of humor is one of an emaciated, flesh-eating cousin, locked in the attic to subsist solely on the occasional stray bat. Featuring works of humor ranging from the intellectual to the intestinal, ADR aims within its pages to liberate the elements of the comedic impulse from the pedestrian, observational trenches of culture and thereby fashion a true Unified Field Theory of Wit. The Electronic Drivel Review is a weekly online addendum to the print journal. Each Monday, one of the authors corralled in EDR's digital stables will post a new piece of our patented brand of literary humor. We take up to five pages of work per submission, any genre or type (including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, b&w art, and experimental forms of all sorts). Submissions longer than five pages, please query. We accept unsolicited submissions for our print journal, but not for the online addendum.
