About

RHINO is a literary annual that invites traditional or experimental work reflecting passion, originality, artistic conviction, and a love affair with language. We publish poetry, flash fiction, and translations. We encourage emerging and established writers and want to publish work from throughout the United States and around the world. Submissions are read by multiple editors with various tastes, all looking for quality work. Sometimes we call ourselves “eclectic” in the best sense of the word. We are proud of the content and variety of each issue we publish.

Important: Do not send more than one submission per reading period unless requested.
Want more insight into the editors' preferences? Read our interview with the editor(s).

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Just remember…

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
