Perhaps nowhere in literature does the written word hold more bounty than the Narrative experience. The Intima welcomes submissions of clinical resonance from a personal/familial/professional perspective. Academic: Narrative medicine is a newly recognized entity, seeking to reinforce and re-define the interface between patient and physician, caregiver and patient, patient and family, all those whose lives are touched and altered by the experience of illness. Methodology, essay, practicum experience; all serve to share, educate and promote the skills and horizons of the practice of Narrative technique. Field Notes: Field Notes will include descriptive and narrative essays that highlight the personal experiences of providers implementing Narrative Medicine techniques and strategies in their work. We welcome statements from clinicians in all disciplines reflecting on their practice. Also, participants in Narrative Medicine workshops and programs may submit narrative essays that describe their experience taking part in such activities and the long-term effects of the workshops.
