About

Homing pigeons have been prized for their navigational abilities for thousands of years. They've served as messengers during war and as a means of long-distance communication. And then along came computers and cell phones. What’s a poor pigeon to do? We couldn’t help but notice the long line of red feet and beaks-nosing-forward for a better pecking order in the unemployment line. The time has come to help our feathered friends in finding new purpose, fulfillment and job satisfaction. It’s time for Poeming Pigeons! For our next anthology project, we are calling on all poets to send in their best poetry on the topic of BIRDS. Ideally, we’d have a farm of free-range, happy pigeons awaiting their next assignment to deliver love poems to the forlorn, but alas, that wasn’t quite in the budget. So instead, we will pay tribute to the homing pigeons of yore with poetry.
