About

Your main character is a fugitive… but from what? The authorities? The Mob? Bounty hunters? Supernatural predators? A dystopian police force? Why is your main character on the run? What is their day to day life on the run like? Are the forces chasing them closing in? And if so, how does your character react, and what are the consequences of their actions? Delve deep into your imagination and deliver a tale that engages, moves, and surprises the reader. But here’s the catch – your story MUST incorporate a YA as a main character, and must be appropriate for the YA audience. It can be told from any vantage point, and can be first or third person. I’m looking for stories that address the typical themes of YA fiction, but with distinctive dark, edgy or fantastical slants – so dark fairy tales, bizarre fiction, horror, surrealism, fantasy, and dark science-fiction are all cool here.
