About

With an attitude that aims to be inclusive and inspiring, Mookychick Magazine has been celebrating the alternative community and providing an engaging and safe space for alternative folk from all walks of life since 2005. Content ranges from features, reviews and how-to guides to short stories and poetry. Personal voices are encouraged, with a vast range of welcomed topics, from alternative beauty, fashion and pastimes (think roller derby or geocaching) to intersectional feminism, self-care, spirituality and the occult. We have a great deal of room in our editorial hearts for the unusual. Past content has, for example, included interviews with morticians and studies of Baroness Elsa, the artist likely to have founded modern art, and also 'Grandmother Lee', who was denied law school but changed forensics with her miniature crime scenes. Mookychick contributors constantly challenge, support and inspire - both themselves and others. Mookychick is UK-based with a global forum and audience. We yearn to promote a range of voices. We would be honoured to hear yours.
