About

The hidden world is all around us. It is internal; it is external—it exists in personal pain, in the smallest joys and successes; it lives on the outskirts of society and even under a rotting pile of leaves in the woods. There is no end to that which lies hidden from everyday view, from the public at large, from those closest to you, and even from yourself. Often what is unseen, unknown, unsaid, and unheard is more important than that which society interacts with on a daily basis. Some might even say that the hidden world is the real world, the truth—a beautiful, sad, or dirty secret behind the lie that society clothes itself in to make it from one day to the next. We want you to peel back the skin, open the curtain, reveal that hidden world to us through your creative work. We desire the finest single piece of poetry, visual art, flash fiction, or flash creative nonfiction you can create that strips down our “reality” and shines a light on the hidden world.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Just remember…

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
