About
The Carolina Quarterly solicits stories that reimagine what it means to be ourselves and live in our world. This contest will be judged by New York Times best-selling author, Daniel Wallace! We’re connected to our pasts—through stories, histories, and traditions—but we can also imagine other ways of being. These reimaginings may appear as fantastic before they’re realized. But that’s OK. What is unlikely or strange may spark our creativity and reveal new opportunities. For this contest, The CQ is interested in stories that, like Wallace’s novels, bring together the intimate—love and loss, redemption and revenge—and the cosmic—collective burdens of history, planetary concerns, and needs for human meaning.
Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions.
