As owner and President at BookEnds, Jessica Faust prides herself on working closely with her authors to make their goals come to fruition. Jessica represents a number of bestselling and award-winning authors. Her areas of expertise include mystery, suspense, thrillers, upmarket, literary, and women's fiction. In nonfiction, her focus is primarily on business, entrepreneurship, career, personal growth, current affairs, health and wellness, and self-help. A veteran of publishing, Jessica began her career in 1994 as an acquisitions editor at Berkley Publishing, Macmillan, and Wiley, where she had the unique opportunity to acquire and edit both fiction and nonfiction. Jessica takes her editorial experience and passion to the agency, where she works with her authors to make their books the best they can be and build a career beyond just the first contract. In addition to nearly 15 years of blogging, Jessica has a regular role on the BookEnds YouTube channel, has taught at New York University's Continuing Education Program, been a columnist writing about publishing, and has been honored by a number of different publishing organizations. She is asked regularly to speak at writers' conferences throughout the world and is a member of MWA, SCBWI, ITW, and AAR. While her heart will always be in Minnesota, Jessica now lives in New Jersey. Jessica is actively seeking fresh new voices and stories in women's fiction, literary and upmarket fiction, mystery, thrillers, and suspense including, but not limited to, psychological and domestic suspense/thrillers, literary and upmarket thrillers, and mysteries. She strives to bring more diverse voices in all genres and would particularly like to see more LGBTQ protagonists in fiction. Jessica loves emotional stories that explore friendships and women's lives. She is looking for edgy new suspense and has been on the hunt for both women's fiction and suspense that explore motherhood.
