Jessica Spitz 1

An agent with Janklow & Nesbit Associates (see other agents at this agency).

About

Jessica represents upmarket and literary fiction, journalistic nonfiction, and select pop culture. On the fiction side, she is drawn to narratives that examine complicated relationships – whether romantic, familial, or platonic – and are imbued with empathy and humor. She also looks for a propulsive plot and enjoys books that include fantasy or speculative elements, but with a light touch. In terms of nonfiction, she is looking for fresh, thoroughly-reported stories on racial history and justice, women’s health and reproductive rights, and mental health. Jessica began her publishing career at William Morris Endeavor, where she spent four years before joining Janklow & Nesbit as a literary agent in 2023. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, and has lived in New York City since moving there to attend Columbia University.
