For these short stories, we’re looking for SFF stories that begin strong, setting up character, tension, and world in the first three paragraphs. We’re looking for SFF stories that have thick middles that digs their hooks into us and don’t let go. We’re looking for SFF stories that leave us feeling and thinking and yearning and perhaps even sweating at the end. We’re looking for writers who can tell the difference between droll exposition and chunky, driving prose. In short, we’re looking for you.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Just remember…

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
