About

Isthmus is an independent Seattle-based journal of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art. We are interested in the intersection of local, national, and international voices. Our mission is to showcase diverse and exploratory work from the West Coast and the world that bridges distances between people, places, and perspectives. Founded in 2014, Isthmus has been recognized in both Best American Essays and Best American Short Stories, and has received praise for its rich and compelling content.

Voluntary Fees: This project accepts voluntary fees for "tip jar" submissions.
