Apple in the Dark About the JournalHello, and welcome to Apple in the Dark, a brand-new online publication focusing on works of fiction and creative nonfiction no longer than 1,500 words apiece. Currently, we offer two issues a year: summer/fall and winter/spring.PaymentWe cannot pay you, but we will promote you via the site and social media. And it’s free to submit! Eventually we’d like to be able to pay authors, WordPress, etc., in order to offer a better journal/site. If there’s any chance you’re able to donate to help us get up and running, please donate any amount via PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/appleinthedark. And it’s a lofty goal, but maybe we’ll be able to offer contributors payment at some point! Maybe we’ll be able to donate to a sustainability NGO or likeminded nonprofit! We’ll see what happens. Any help would be very much appreciated.RightsAITD ask for first publication rights. You may publish your work featured on the site elsewhere following initial publication, but please credit AITD with first publication. Thank you for your support. We can’t wait to publish whatever delightful work comes our way. Spring 2023 Free Tip Jar OptionOpenWe are accepting submissions of no more than 1,500 words apiece for our spring 2023 issue.
