We feature only original, unpublished writing. Submissions may be up to 900 maximum words total for up to five poems, and up to 900 for essays, prose and fiction. You may mix your entry. For example, you may submit two poems along with one essay and a prose piece — as long as you do not exceed the combined maximum of 900 words in your single submission. Entries over the limit may be rejected.You may pay for additional submissions if your initial entry collectively exceeds 900 words in total.When you submit, please include a maximum 100-word bio or self-introduction. We no longer accept entries by email. We only accept submissions through Duosoma. If accepted for publication, you give Alphabet Box first rights to publish your submitted work, both online and in print, and to promote you as a Featured Writer and winner of the Anaïs Nin Prize.If we publish your submission and you later learn it will be published elsewhere, we ask that you advise your other publisher(s) that your work was originally published in Alphabet Box and request attribution.Previous entries must be re-submitted to be considered for Issue 9. Once this issue’s submission window closes, our choice of the featured writer can take weeks, depending on the number of entries we receive.
