Along the Eddyline: Winter 2027 Fee: usd $5.00

We'd love to receive your best work! Please upload up to 3 poems, or a prose piece 3,000 words or less (we can be flexible on this if it's 5,00 words or less).
If you are submitting images for consideration for the cover or asset art, please only send these as appropriate image files (jpeg, jpg, and pdf are acceptable).

Send us your work that evokes currents, and meeting places of opposing forces, in location, spirit, attitude, and resilience. Perhaps it's the place a story happens, or poetry that resounds with powerful forces coming to a place of rest. In this issue, the theme we'd like to highlight is the fall and winter seasons, a time of compression, preparation, and a call to slower paces. Place-based submissions also help, as we are passionate about Northern latitudes, in North America, and beyond.

Submissions will be accepted through December 1st, 2026. We charge a $5 fee for submissions. This covers printing and shipping of the physical copies, as well as a small 'reader' fee to process submissions in a timely manner.

We will run a PDF version and a printed version. These will be distributed to those who are paid subscribers to "Along the Eddyline" on Substack, and to those who are accepted authors and artists for the current issue.

Simultaneous submissions are encouraged. If any of your work is accepted elsewhere, congratulations! Please send an email to "[email protected]" to withdraw your piece.

We do NOT publish:

* Previously published work. Substack posts, blogs or other non-print methods do count as "published". Submitting your work is an affirmation that you are the original author and that you retain the rights to your work. All work remains the right of the author/artist and after publication in the journal, we simply ask that you credit this if you include it in subsequent publications. "First published in the (blank) issue of "Along the Eddyline Lit Journal" is sufficient.

We aim to respond within three weeks after the closure of submissions, but sometimes the volume of submissions and circumstances beyond our control slow us down. We are reasonable people, who value the human connection. If it’s been more than a month, you won’t offend us if you send us a message to check on things.

We may close submissions before the published date. This means we've reached the amount of submissions to publish the journal. To have your best shot at being selected, we advise you to submit early and not wait until the last minute.
