Grey Coven Publishing Anthology Series

Welcome to our themed anthology. We accept submissions bi-annually. Our anthology is released as both an ebook and a paperback. Contributors receive free ebook copies and a 15% discount on the paperback presale.

We love dark, weird, introspective work with surprising language and chaotic stories. We want ethereal, hopeful, or even horrific! If your work is too outlandish for traditional lit mags, we're interested in your work.

We accept artwork, short stories up to a thousand words, and poetry up to one page in length. General submissions will always be free. We have a tip jar option that will guarantee an expedited (within one week) response.

We nominate for the Pushcart Prize and Best of Net.

Welcome to the first Grey Coven Publishing writing & art contest! First prize will be awarded $250, publication on our website, and publication in our next anthology (release date January 2025). There are two official categories: Poetry/Flash Fiction and Artwork. Submissions are open from September 9th, 2024 - October 31st, 2024. The theme is “Karma is a Witch.” Please interpret that however you wish, all interpretations considered!

Poetry/Flash Fiction
  • Please only submit up to three poems or two flash fiction pieces
  • Poems should be no longer than one page each (up to three pages total per submission)
  • Flash fiction should be no longer than 1,000 words per piece (up to 2,000 words per submission)
  • Please send your work as a .doc or .docx, 12pt Garamond font, and 1.15 spacing
  • The winning piece will receive $250, publication on our website and in our next anthology, and nomination for the Pushcart Prize
  • All entries are considered for publication in our Winter Anthology
Artwork
  • Please only submit up to two pieces of art in the medium of your choice
  • Art may be sent as a jpg, png, or print ready pdf
  • The winner will receive $250, publication on our website, and will be featured on the cover of our next anthology
  • All entries are considered for publication in our Winter Anthology

Volume 2: Tarot Free Tip Jar Option

The theme for this call is "Tarot." Loose interpretations of the theme are considered.

Poetry Guidelines: Submit 1-5 poems at a time in a single document. Each piece should be on its own page. Poems should not exceed one page. We prefer 1.15 spacing, Garamond, and 12 point font. We prefer micro poetry, free verse poetry, or prose poetry. However, we will consider all genres. Poetry than has been previously posted on Instagram (or other social media platforms) is acceptable. Self-published work is acceptable. If your work has been previously published, you must hold the rights and disclose the original publisher.

Flash Fiction Guidelines: Submit 1-2 flash fiction pieces in a single document. Each piece should be on its own page. All flash fiction pieces should be under 1,000 words. We prefer 1.15 spacing, Garamond, and 12 point font. We are seeking pieces with a strong narrative, a wow factor, and descriptive language. We love experimental pieces, send us your wildest stories!

Visual Art Guidelines: Submit 1-3 pieces of visual art. Any medium is considered. Please send visual art submissions as .jpg, .png, or print ready .pdf
