Metatron Press is now open for manuscript submissions. All submissions will be carefully considered by our editors for our upcoming publishing cycle.

We are looking for poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction, as well as innovative or hybrid book projects that push the boundaries of contemporary literature and book art. While we don’t have strict formatting or length requirements, our books typically range from 60–160 pages. We strongly encourage you to explore our catalogue to get a sense of the kinds of work we publish and whether your manuscript aligns with our vision.

Submissions are open to writers residing on Turtle Island, including Canadian citizens and residents.

Founded in 2014, Metatron Press is a Montréal-based literary publisher devoted to edgy, spirited, and emotionally resonant contemporary writing. We seek work that reflects the sensibilities of our time, challenges literary norms, and redefines the possibilities of publishing. Our books are designed to be bold, unique, and deeply felt.

Metatron Press is reading for our upcoming publication years. We want to encounter the books you feel compelled to make: work with a voice of its own, a sense of possibility, and something at stake.

We welcome poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, translations, and innovative or hybrid book projects. We’re drawn to writing that is intimate, strange, funny, tender, rebellious, formally adventurous, and emotionally precise. We love a book that changes how we see things. You don’t need to fit neatly into a genre to send us yours.

Founded in 2014 in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal, Metatron is an independent press that has published more than 50 books and brought writers and readers together through more than 70 events. Our catalogue includes Lee Suksi’s The Nerves, winner of a Lambda Literary Award, and Trynne Delaney’s the half-drowned, winner of the Quebec Writers’ Federation’s First Book Prize. Our books reach bookstores through distribution in Canada, the United States, and the UK and Europe. We care deeply about how a book is edited, designed, made, and welcomed into the world.

What to send

Submit a complete, full-length manuscript through this Duosuma form. Please follow the form’s prompts and upload your manuscript where requested. We cannot accept submissions for this call by email.
There are no strict formatting or length requirements. Most Metatron books are approximately 60–160 pages.
We encourage you to explore our catalogue before submitting to get a feel for our books. We’re interested in work that speaks to our vision while taking it somewhere new.
