Maximus Magazine Maximus Books

Maximus Magazine an online magazine of poetry of unusual form — that is, specifically, poetry that defies what we think poetry should look, feel, and taste like. The works of Charles Olson, Alice Notley, Frank O’Hara, Ted Berrigan, Allen Ginsberg, Ezra Pound, William Carlos Williams, Ruth Baumann, Kenneth Koch, Mary Oliver, Robert Creeley, and Mao Zedong inspire us. We love poetry that subverts our expectations of the language and sound of poetry, and that which captures the language of the everyday and of the people who speak it but, importantly, does not replicate it.
