Publicity Internship Spout Press Publicity/Social Media InternSpout Press hires a Publicity/Social Media Intern each Fall (September-December), Spring (January-May), and Summer (May-August) to help promote the press, upcoming book releases, Spout events, and other activities. This is an unpaid internship with a four month commitment in fall and spring semesters and three months in summer.ResponsibilitiesCreate and distribute press releases and documents to promote upcoming titlesContact potential reviewers for booksReach out to institutions to host release events and help promote authorsDevelop a social media and publicity strategy for the organizationCurate social media profiles, including Instagram, Bluesky, Facebook, and SubstackUse social analytics tools to gain insights to continually improve use of social channelsUse design skills to layout books ranging from Spout Magazine to chapbook and full-length booksCreate cover designs for booksDesign forms and documents to go along with the Spout Press brand such as flyers, emails, forms, posters, postcards, social media content, website content, infographics, etc.Review submissions of fiction, poetry, thought and translation for Spout MagazineOther duties as they arise with specific projectsRequirementsIndividual must be able to commit 5-10 hours per weekInterest in publishing and love for reading.
