Double Dutch Magazine Gold Star Program Gold Star

Hi there! We've started accepting submissions for our sixth regular issue! Due to be published in November 2026. We want your poetry/music/art!

But, to be blunt, we can be annoyingly picky at the same time? We're different from a lot of magazines out there in the sense that while we aim for a lot of things, pleasing is NOT one of them. Quality beats subject manner and/or choice of language every time. We applaud the outspoken. And, to be totally fair, we love us a bit of old fashioned controversy? This means we're not for everybody, so be it. It DOES however gives us a shot, as a magazine, to truly stand out. Or so we like to tell ourselves. Dream big, eh? Want in on that dream? Send us your very best, then!

Our current issue!

A short cut to who/what/why/for whom!

Please also read our own submissions page!

Important: the only translations we're currently accepting/looking for are those of Dutch or Flemish poetry/lyrics, translated in English, alongside the original and permission (duh!). Thnks!

We do not pay for publishing your work. Would love to, but we lack the means. Other sites/people that claim that we do have been asked to rectify said claim. Cheers!

We do like to think we put more work into the bio of each contributor than most other mags, meaning that when we accept a poem of yours we ask for a bio as big/large/extensive as you can possible muster, including any and all links required to showcase your creatieve career. We like for our contributors to have a page with us they like to revisit again and again!

We only accept your work through duosuma/duotrope. Sending your work through email won't work. Sorry.

Thank you.

Submission fee 10 euro’s. No refunds. One version, so better make it your final.

Submit through Duosuma/Duotrope or the contactpage on our site (after donating 10 euro’s through here) and thank you ever so kindly!

We reserve the right to not name a winner when the quality of submissions isn’t high enough in our oppinion. Even if 1000 people enter. On the other hand, if we only receive 3 poems and they’re all great and one of them’s yours, well… :)

Submission windows: for the autumn editions the 30th of September and for the spring editions March the 31st.

Prizes:

Eternal fame, for the winner of each edition a rigorous ego fondling through a dedicated feature article about their poetry + each edition’s 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will get their own page. We'll select as many nominees as we feel appropriate and these fine folk will get a shout out as well.

Our Head judge for this very first: Lucy Olsman. Thank you so much, Lucy!

We can’t wait to get going with this exciting initiative! So, send us your best? Cheers.

Editorial note: we might be a magazine that likes to kid around and look like we do not take ourselves too seriously? Well, that’s because we don’t! We do however very much cherish the poetry/art published here and treat the hard work that has gone into it with the respect it deserves. You will find us putting the same care and love into organizing these contests. Pinky promise!
