In addition to our general submission guidelines at the top of this page, the following additional guidelines apply to prose:

• Please use a readable font (e.g., Times New Roman) in 12-point
• Double-space your work (unless alternative spacing is necessary due to experimentation with form). Not doing so makes it difficult for our readers to review your work.
• Individual flash pieces must not exceed 1,000 words each.
• You may submit up to five pieces, not to exceed 4,000 words total.
• While we strive to be writer centered and always generous to our submitters, we reserve the right to reject any submissions outright that do not adhere to our guidelines.

Important: When submitting multiple flash pieces, please be sure to list each title separately when prompted in Duosuma. This allows you to withdraw individual pieces. We understand this is a bit tedious, but it is necessary for workflow. Otherwise, you will only be able to withdraw your entire submission if any individual story is accepted elsewhere.
