Up North Literary Journal: High School Submissions Free

THIS CALL FOR SUBMISSION IS ONLY FOR HIGH SCHOOL WRITERS AND ARTISTS

CALL INFO:

Prose: Fiction and nonfiction submissions up to 4,000 words. We welcome more than one story or essay if the total submission is 4,000 words or under.

Poetry: Poetry submissions of up to 5 poems (no longer than 15 pages). Please make sure every new poem appears on a new page.

Photography/Art: Photography and art submissions of up to 3 images.

GUIDELINES:

Please include a short cover letter (250 words or less) and bio (50 words or less) introducing yourself and your work.
Please indicate NAME / SCHOOL / (GENRE) SUBMISSION in the first line of your cover letter.
If you are submitting multiple pieces, please put them together in one file.
Simultaneous submissions are welcome, provided we are notified in the event that a piece is accepted elsewhere.
Please allow for 6 months to pass before reaching out for a submission update.

Categories: Fiction/Nonfiction/Poetry/Art/Multimedia/Drama
File types: .doc, .docx, .pdf, .jpg, .jpeg, .png
Number of Pieces: Up to 5 pieces per submission.
Single File: Required. All pieces must be submitted in a single file (except for multimedia and visual art submissions).

Anonymous submissions are not required.
Simultaneous submissions are allowed.
Reprints are not allowed.
Multiple entries are allowed.
AI-assisted works are not allowed.
