About

At its core, Up North Literary Journal is a web-based literary journal seeking to showcase the very best creative work of emerging and established writers and artists in the Midwest. Our mission is to bring the work of high school students into conversation with the work of experienced writers and artists at any point of their career and see what new discussions, perspectives, and ideas are formed. All in all, we devote at least half of our journal to the work of high school students, while the other half is comprised of writers and artists of all ages and steps in their careers.

Limited Demographic: Submissions are restricted to high school students in some submission periods.
