Full Circle: The Literally Literary Anthology, 2027

Every circle begins somewhere. Ours began in 2016 with a simple idea: good writing deserves readers, no matter who wrote it or where they come from. Our first anthology was called From the Start. Our 2027 collection, Full Circle, celebrates how far that idea has traveled and how it keeps coming home.

Full Circle gathers the year's standout poetry, fiction, essays, and nonfiction published by Literally Literary, chosen by our editors from the work our community of 28,000+ readers has already welcomed. These are pieces about returns and beginnings, endings that open doors, and the stories we carry with us as they change shape over time. Some writers are seasoned; some are seeing their work in print for the first time. All of them belong here.

There's no separate open call. If your work appears in Literally Literary during the 2026–27 reading year, it's eligible for consideration.

If it is not accepted for this year, there is still a chance it may appear in the following year.

Full Circle will be published in June 2027 as a limited print edition. Copies will be available through literallyliterarypub.com and Amazon, and every purchase helps us keep the presses and the community going.

Quota: This project has established a quota. Submissions will close when it is reached.

Literally Literary is an independent literary publication founded in 2016, reaching 28,000+ readers on Medium. We publish poetry, fiction, essays, and creative nonfiction from writers worldwide, with a standing commitment to inclusion and to amplifying underrepresented and emerging voices. We're warm, direct, and allergic to gatekeeping. If the work is good, it belongs here, whether it's your first piece or your fiftieth.

Where your work can appear

Anthology: our yearly print anthology, published each June. The 2027 edition, Full Circle, is curated from work we publish during the year, so every accepted piece is eligible.
Online: weekly publication on Medium, rounded up in our monthly newsletter

Poetry: up to 3 per submission
Fiction: 3,000
Essays and creative nonfiction: 3,000
Reprints: [accepted / not accepted]
Simultaneous submissions: welcome; please withdraw promptly if your piece is accepted elsewhere

Our AI policy
We publish human-authored work only. All submissions are screened for AI-generated content, and that includes translations, which must be done by a human translator. Work flagged as AI-generated will be declined, though writers may respond with drafts or notes showing their process.
