Poetry in Plain Sight North Carolina Poetry Society

Submissions Guidelines:

READ THIS PLEASE :)

You will be asked to enter information about each individual piece included in your submission. The word "piece" refers to your poem title. You will then upload ONE file containing all of the pieces (poems) in your submission.

For example, if you are submitting three poems, enter the title and requested information about line numbers for each of the three poems. Then upload one document containing all three poems.

• You may submit 1–3 poems. Put all poems an A SINGLE document (.doc .docx or .pdf file type). Please start each poem on a new page.
• Length: Poems must be fewer than 20 lines, including line breaks.
• Line length: Lines should be no longer than 40 characters (approximately 4.5 inches in 12-point type).
• Poetry in Plain Sight is open to any poet who is a current North Carolina resident.
• Submissions are free to any poet under the age of 18 and to North Carolina Poetry Society Members with up-to-date dues.
• The submission fee is $5 for non-members.
• Content: Poems must be suitable for readers of all ages.
• There’s no restriction on theme, but poem content should be suitable for readers of all ages.
• Previously published poems are acceptable, as long as proper accreditation is provided in the submission.
• DO NOT INCLUDE your name or identifying information in your submission.
• Poems that are generated, written, or substantially developed using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, are not permitted.
