Poetry in Plain Sight A project of North Carolina Poetry Society (see other related projects). About Launched in Winston-Salem in 2013, Poetry in Plain Sight brings North Carolina poetry and poets to the public eye. Four poems are chosen monthly and displayed on posters in street-visible locations throughout arts districts and downtown areas in Winston-Salem and our expansion cities. We aim to bring poetry to a wider audience and support North Carolina poets. This program is a collaborative effort with the North Carolina Poetry Society, North Carolina Writers’ Network, Press 53, and Winston-Salem Writers. Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions, except for members of the NC Poetry Society, and they do not offer monetary payment for accepted submissions. (Note: About 8% of magazines always charge fees.) The fee is USD $5 (above average for magazines that charge). Limited Demographic: Submissions are restricted to residents of North Carolina.
