United Kingdom Agent since 2020

Fiction Open

Emily is looking for female-led commercial and book club fiction, with an emphasis on diverse / own voices. At present, Emily is looking for a fresh, new take on psych thrillers; witty and observant rom-coms, epic love stories, historical fiction with a strong focus on women and book club fiction along the lines of Jessie Burton. She's also partial to a little magical realism (think The Midnight Library and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue). Concept-led mysteries - whether historical or contemporary - are also very high on the wish list and if an original horror novel / ghost story landed in her inbox, she would be delighted. To give you an idea of Emily's taste, some of her favourite reads from the last couple of years (besides her clients' books) are: Wahala by Nikki May, Insatiable by Daisy Buchanan, The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris, The Last Thing to Burn by Will Dean, The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper and The Girl With the Louding Voice by Abi Daré.
