About

2 members set this agent as a Favorite.

Erica Martin is a freelance editor and a poet. Her debut poetry collection, And We Rise, was released in February 2022 from Viking Books for Young Readers/Penguin Random House. It was an ABA Indies Introduce selection, as well as an ABA Indie Next pick. She has been featured by Oprah Daily and is also one of three editors overseeing an upcoming poetry anthology that features many award-winning and New York Times best-selling authors, scheduled for publication in 2024. Wanting to apply her editing skills beyond freelance clients, she joined D4EO Literary Agency in March 2022, working as a literary assistant to Bob Diforio, the founding agent, reading and evaluating manuscripts while offering editorial suggestions on the submissions she found promising. In addition to assisting Bob, she was also building her own list and has now sold her first book as D4EO Agent, THIS SIDE OF FALLING by Eunice Chan in a nice deal to Alexa Wejko at Soho Press in late June 2022. Erica specializes in young adult works across all genres and formats, poetry, and the occasional narrative non-fiction work. She enjoys stories with larger-than-life characters, antiheroes, unreliable narrators. Stories that are beautiful and provocative-taboo, even. Stories that really go there.
