About

At Remarkable Doorways, we seek to publish any doorway you’ve created into another world, a character’s mind, or anything else remarkable. This includes prose, poetry, screenplays, art, comics, film, a mix of the six and anything in-between or beyond. We want your everyday and your impossible, your black-and-white student film and a photo of your Grandpa, your stories, art, and audio of beautiful things eating ugly things–and whatever else you’ve made. To take a page from John Darnielle, the most remarkable thing about the doorway of your art is that you’re the one who opened it. You made something nobody else did. Now we want to show it to people. Our number one commitment is to publishing unique, engaging work–something that could never have been created by anyone but the artist. This ties into our second goal: allowing every writer and artist we publish to speak about their creative process, the how and why of what the door they’ve constructed. We maintain an archive of our contributors on our Doormakers page.
