RipRap Journal 23

About

Rip Rap is a literary journal designed and produced by students in the Master of Fine Arts, Creative Writing program at California State University Long Beach (CSULB). Since its inception in 1951, the journal has evolved from its original title, Hornspoon, until it was renamed Gambit and finally, in 1979, Rip Rap. Rip Rap highlights new and emerging writers from across the country as well as enlightening interviews of award winning, published writers who are featured in the CSULB English Department’s Visiting Writers Series. Rip Rap offers a humble invitation to talented and aspiring writers of all genres and is open to everyone. Specifically, Rip Rap publishes creative short fiction and nonfiction, poetry, and art such as photography, illustration and comics. The journal is especially interested in work that is innovative, forward-thinking, and as entertaining as it is thought-provoking.
