About

We’re thrilled to share the new name of our contest for emerging writers, formerly known as the Young Buck Poetry Prize. Henceforth, the contest will be known as The Foster Poetry Prize, named in honour of CV2’s longtime editor and our dear friend, Clarise Foster. To foster means to “encourage or promote development,” and with its connotations of encouragement, nurturing, and support, we felt that Clarise’s last name provided the perfect sentiment for this contest that’s centred around promoting and championing the work of emerging poets.
