Punt Volat is a literary journal conceived in Barcelona and born in the United States. We publish fiction, poetry, video, visual art, and otherwise in English, Castellano, Català, and Deutsch. Punt volat is the Català term for the diacritic that splits twin l’s, as in “xitxarel·lo.” It hovers between two marks, signalling the pronunciation of the word. Translated, punt volat—interpunct, in English—means “flown point.” We like to think of it more metaphorically. Punt volat is the point that designates the purposeful ambiguity that flies between. This ambiguity is vieldeutig: many-meaninged or multiply meaningful.
