Announcing Subscription Pricing Changes 1 May 2026

We have an important update about our subscriptions. Since we introduced paid plans in 2013, we've kept our pricing exactly the same. Over the past thirteen years, the costs of running and supporting the service have increased significantly, and we've absorbed those rising costs for as long as possible.

To continue providing the service, reliability, and support you expect from us, we’re updating our pricing.

Beginning June 1, 2026 at 8 AM MDT, subscription pricing will be as follows:

Monthly Subscription: GBP £5.00

Annual Subscription: GBP £50.00

We also support other currencies. Click an option for details: USD, AUD, CAD, EUR, INR, NZD.

Nothing about your plan features or your access is changing. This update is simply about keeping Duotrope sustainable for the long term.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

When does the new pricing take effect?

For current subscribers (anyone who subscribes before June 1st): The price will take effect for their first charge on or after July 1st.
For new subscribers (and members returning after a lapse): The new pricing will begin on June 1st.

Why are prices changing?

In the past 13 years, our business expenses have increased substantially due to inflation. We now need to raise our rates to sustain a stable, dependable service for the long term, which requires continual investment in security and technology.

Will my subscription features change?

No, you'll still have access to the features we've provided for years. While we will continue to improve our features and services, this pricing change is not because of any new features (unlike all those companies that raised prices to bring you AI features you didn't ask for... Whoops! Our Inner Snark is showing).

I'm a long-time subscriber. Do I need to do anything? Will my billing cycle change?

Thank you for being a loyal member of the Duotrope community. No, you don't need to do anything. You will be charged the new rate on your first charge on or after July 1, 2026. Your billing cycle will not change.

I'm on a monthly subscription. What happens if I upgrade to an annual subscription?

If your monthly subscription started before June 1st, and you upgrade to an annual subscription before July 1st, you will be charged a prorated amount at the old prices. Your next charge in 2027 will be at the new rates.

I'm on a trial. When will I be charged the new rates?

If your trial started before June 1st, any charges before July 1st will be at the old rates. Charges on or after July 1st will be at the new rates.

Does the new pricing affect Gift Certificates as well? What about Group Memberships?

Yes, it does. Gift Certificates purchased before June 1st will be sold at the old rates. The new rates will take effect on June 1st. The same goes for Group Memberships.

Can I cancel before the price change?

Yes, of course. You can cancel any time. We recommend cancelling as soon as you know you don't want to continue the subscription. You will retain access for the period of time you've already paid for. If you resubscribe after June 1st, you will be charged the new rates.

Does this affect Duosuma?

This price increase only applies to Duotrope subscriptions. A Duotrope subscription has never been needed to submit via Duosuma, to have a Duosuma account for publishers, or to be on a Duosuma editorial team. That is not changing.
