Mist and Mountain

About this Organization

Mist and Mountain is a creative platform based in Scotland that supports creatives from all backgrounds, with a special focus on ethnic minorities and marginalised communities. Committed to promoting diversity, Mist and Mountain organises creative writing competitions in collaboration with partner organisations.

It hosts various programs, including a monthly poetry reading in collaboration with local groups. This event provides a space for poets and writers to share their work and connect with the community. The organization has also consistently organised the International Poetry Prize and the Author Talk program.

The Author Talk program has featured prominent writers such as Kathleen Jamie, John Burnside, Wayne Price, Marti Leimbach, Naomi Foyle, and Amal Chatterjee. Additionally, Mist and Mountain conducts workshops in schools and colleges on a variety of themes, fostering students’ creativity and confidence.

In collaboration with the Clashnettie Artists Centre, Mist and Mountain is now offering creative residency opportunities for creatives across various disciplines. The platform has also organized international programs with renowned institutions, including Tribhuvan University in Nepal, creating global opportunities for emerging and established writers. Furthermore, Mist and Mountain has successfully curated writing residencies in different parts of the world, strengthening its vision to connect and uplift creative voices on an international scale.
