Elyse is a student/instructor earning her degree in English alongside a Single Subject Teaching Credential. She is passionate about teaching writing as much as writing itself. She loves LGBTQIA+ characters, characters from cultures she wants to research and learn about, stories of revenge, and exploring relationships between family. Elyse has been an avid reader of stories with dark morals such as The Brothers' Grimm fairytales from childhood, and has enjoyed reading gothic classics in more recent years, particularly falling in love with Bram Stoker's Dracula. After she self-published her dark fantasy novel That Heart Which Sings, she hopes to seek out a publisher for her new manuscript, an urban fantasy about teachers with alter egos as superheroes and villains.
