Irish poet Katie Donovan has published six collections with Bloodaxe Books, most recently “May Swim” (2024). She received the Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Award for Irish Poetry in 2017. Her poetry has appeared in many anthologies, notably the internationally renowned “Staying Alive: Real Poems for Unreal Times” and “The Wake Forest Book of Irish Women’s Poetry”. She has co-edited several anthologies, including the bestselling “Ireland’s Women: Writings Past and Present” (published in Ireland, the UK and the US). She has given readings in Ireland, the US, the UK, Canada, France, Belgium, Iceland, Portugal, the Netherlands and Denmark. She is a former features journalist with “The Irish Times” and has taught Creative Writing at NUI Maynooth, iadt Dun Laoghaire and the Irish Writers’ Centre. She was Writer-in-Residence in her local borough of Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown. Her work has been translated into French and Romanian.

Originally from Co Wexford, Katie Donovan lives in Dalkey, Co Dublin.
