Tal Birdsey Non-Member New I am a teacher and writer from VermontTal Birdsey is the co-founder and head teacher of the North Branch School, in Ripton, Vermont. He has published poems in Kansas Quarterly, the Chattahoochee Review, Southern Poetry Review, Atlanta Review, the Literary Review, Poem, Nine Mile, and others. He's also also published two books about teaching: “A Room for Learning: The Making of a School in Vermont” (St. Martin's Press, 2008), and “Hearts of the Mountain: Adolescents, A Teacher, and a Living School “(Green Writers Press, 2022). A book of poems, “Burnt Mountain Blues,” is forthcoming from Green Writers Press, and he's currently working on a new book of poems, “The Copse."
