TOM STERLING grew up in Crisfield on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, where tales drifted on the wind like the fresh scent of marsh grasses. He spent years working as an engineer in the defense industry, where stories called out from old engineering notebooks and forgotten Cold War circuitry. Today he writes speculative fiction, fantasy, and horror about ordinary people thrown into extraordinary situations, with some of his stories, poems, and photographs appearing on NPR, the BBC, and in numerous anthologies.
