Stories of community care from East Africa

Nonfiction

Angi Yoder-Maina grew up in a small farming community in Iowa and has spent more than thirty years working alongside communities in East Africa and the Horn. She founded Green String Network, which trains young people to lead healing circles in their own villages, prisons, and neighborhoods. She married into Kenya over twenty years ago, and much of what she knows about care she learned in rooms like the one in Kombani. She is at work on a book about community care. She lives in Tallahassee, Florida, but calls Nairobi, Kenya, home.
