Anne Palmer started writing a few years ago to help make sense of her experiences as a mother to two sons facing addiction and mental health challenges. Her work has appeared in The Rumpus and Little Old Lady Comedy.

As Director of Practice at the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future and a senior scientist at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, she has published numerous academic journal articles, book chapters, and reports on food system issues. She earned her MA in Writing at Johns Hopkins University in 2026, her master’s in international affairs from Ohio University, and her bachelor's in sociology and women’s studies from Saint Olaf College. She lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland.
