Penning stories of whimsy, wonder, and adventure

Fiction

Born and raised in North Carolina, I have always been enchanted by its beauty, from its lush forests and misty mountains to the sparkling waters of its crystal coast. This captivating landscape has fueled my imagination and fostered a love of nature from an early age. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I studied biology and went on to earn a masters degree in secondary science education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Since then, I’ve made my career teaching high school science, primarily biology and chemistry. I feel fortunate that my work has allowed me to share my passion with others while also developing my writing craft, using my experience as a science teacher as inspiration for stories of fantasy and adventure. A few of my short stories can be found in the literary journals UNSETTLING WONDER, QUAIL BELL MAGAZINE, and SWORDS AND SORCERY MAGAZINE.
