One place is in my studio basement with all of my equipment needed to create my pieces and experiment or try new things. Another place is going to Lake Erie to sit and watch the waves as I come up with nee drawings that inspire me.If you could only take one book on a ten-year voyage, what book would you choose? The one book I will take with me is The Land of Stories Book 1! I enjoy anything with magic and mystery, and if I am going through an adventure, I choose to bring something that will not only keep me entertained and never get bored of it, but also something that will gain me new inspiration and ideas while I am on a voyage. How much of a typical day (or week) are you able to dedicate to your creative work?I typically 5 days a week, as I am a full-time artist. Usually I work on more than one project from clients, and I also run my art business where I do illustations and mini projects for my social pages. So I am constantly creating or drawing every single day.How do you celebrate your successes, such as acceptances? How do you handle rejections and other setbacks?I view rejection as redirection when it comes to being backseated. I am always greatful for opportunities I get accepted or succeed, but with rejection I usually move to the next one and notice that if I get rejected, maybe the opportunity was not meant for me.How much time do you spend reading for pleasure or edification?I read everyday and I enjoy reading different kinds of books for enjoyment, nostalgia, or even edification. Growing up my mom has been Preschool and Kindergarten teacher, and so we have had mountains of Children books, first reader chapter books, and so many more on my house which I usually would look through to gain inspiration or ideas for my art and understand how a story flows. As I got older I ventured in fiction, sci-fi and mystery books as it makes me imagine scenes as I am reading through the books.Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere!!! Everything I see, experience, or interact with makes me inspired. It's like my brain is the characters from inside out, and all of my core memories or memories are a way for me to gain inspiration. What advice would you give to a young, budding writer (or artist) with less experience than yourself? My advice for young artists is to never stop believing in yourself and always try! Art is something you can't master in a single day, it takes time to grow your skills in the space of storytelling. Every stroke and every piece is not going to be perfect, but that is the beauty of art, it always doesn't have to be perfect.Do you incorporate generative AI/LLMs into your creative process? If so, how?NO!!! I do not use any generative AI or llm when it comes to my creative process. As someone who has studied art and been completely self-taught starting at the age of six, every single experience and every single piece that I created from start to finish has always been from my hands only!
