writing about your favorite monster ex-girlfriends

Fiction Poetry Photography

Brigitte Winter is a novelist writing fabulist fiction about your favorite monster ex-girlfriends. She also writes narrative games, poetry, and short stories. The capacity of storytelling to connect, inspire, and incite is central to Brigitte’s art and their activism, and they make art that is queer, feminist, intimate, and deliciously weird. Brigitte’s most recent short story, Redo, was published by PodCastle in March 2025, and her work has also appeared in City of Weird: 30 Otherworldly Portland Tales and New Year, New You: A Speculative Anthology of Reinvention, Yellow Arrow, and more.

Brigitte is a two-time CRIT Award-winning game designer and a 2023 Dicebreaker Tabletop Awards Finalist for Designer of the Year. She is also a 2023 alumna of Viable Paradise and a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association and the Horror Writers Association.

Her debut novel, The Normal Monster Club, will be published in 2027.
