Bruce started pursing the writing craft seriously about ten years ago after retiring from the federal civil servant. He always desired to be a serious writer but was afraid to pursue it for fear of not being able to make a living doing it.

After graduating college with a BA in English Literature in 1980, a year in which the country was in a deep recession, he was compelled to pursue a career — the United States Navy — which appeared to offer a more certain future. Thirty years later, he decided to do what he really loves, writing. He completed an MFA in Creative Writing at The University of the South in Sewanee, TN about three years ago and currently lives and writes in West Hartford, CT with his wife.
