Carol J. Scamman lives in Nacogdoches, TX and shares her heart and home with two Siberian Forest Cats. She’s a Massachusetts native and a retired academic librarian who earned a BA from Grove City College and MLS from UAlbany. Her poems have appeared in the anthology “Bearing Witness: Poetry for Troubled Times” Sligo Creek Publishing, 2026, “Trolley: the online journal of the NYS Writers Institute,” “Rainy Weather Days: a defiant literary journal,” and “rhizomag.” She has also published creative nonfiction in the book "The West That Was" (eds. Joe Lansdale and Thomas Knowles). Her grandfather, Henry W. Scamman, a poet and farmer from Phillips, and Strong, ME, inspired her to write. Ms. Scamman speaks French and Spanish, loves kayaking, canoeing, hiking, travel, and ethnic foods.
