Irish poet and memoirist.

David Cotter is an Irish writer living in County Galway. He holds an M.Phil. in Anglo-Irish Literature and a PhD from Trinity College Dublin. His critical study, Joyce and the Perverse Ideal, was published by Routledge in 2002. His poetry has appeared in journals including Ariel. After living for seventeen years in Beijing, he returned to Ireland in 2018. He writes poetry, memoir and fiction. His recently completed literary memoir, What Is Left When Everything Is Gone, explores childhood, displacement, identity and loss.
