Doing my best to keep at the practice of practice

I am a Los Angeles–based poet, songwriter, and artist whose writing moves between lyric attention, music, performance, and visual culture. I have been writing and performing original work since my teens, and my poetry has been published in literary journals and other independent venues.

Alongside my writing, I have worked as a recording artist (Numero Group, Half Moon, Gatoland), curator, publisher (PraxinoscopeX), and producer. I founded the independent record label Simple Machines Records and have helped create artist-centered projects and events in Los Angeles and New York. I currently teach writing and narrative craft at The Los Angeles Film School.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School. My poems are often drawn to the crossings of the everyday and the charged or mysterious: landscape, memory, music, desire, and the small instances of attention through which a larger world becomes visible.
